The inaugural Chain Gang Ball will take place on Friday the 18th September, 2015 at Hotel Meyrick, Eyre Square, Galway at 8pm.
The event, the first of its kind in the city, sees a number of the Clubs come together to collectively raise funds for their individual nominated charities. The idea came about over a series of meeting in the Galway Rotary Club, whose ethos is all about community and fellowship.
The clubs involved are Galway Rotary, whose chosen Charity is Galway Rape Crisis Centre, Galway Vintners whose charity is Galway Community Bus, the Galway Solicitors Bar Association whose charity is Croi, the Galway City Business Association whose Charity is ISPCC, and the Insurance Institute of Galway whose charity is The Insurance Charities.
Speaking at the Launch of the event Mayor Frank Fahy said that he was delighted to support this philanthropic initiative of the groups involved and that it was a testament to the spirit of volunteerism in the city that people already involved in organisations in a voluntary capacity were giving so generously of their time to raise vital funds for Charities in Galway.
The Black Tie event begins with a prosecco reception, followed by 3 course meal. The night also includes a Charity Auction and music by Pyramid.
Tickets cost €80.00 each or €750 for a table of 10 and are available through the Hotel Meyrick.
