The GRCC have launched the ‘Never Blame The Victim’ campaign in a bid to bring more awareness to young people (14-18 year olds) about the myths that surround sexual violence and in particular to bring to the forefront of their minds – the impact of victim blaming. This project was designed in consulation with Comhairle na nÓg (Youth Work Ireland, Galway) and is an innovative programme which will increase the understanding of young people and professionals that work with young people of the stigma surrounding sexual abuse and sexual violence. By increasing understanding, challenging myths and providing clear information these workshops aim to prevent sexual violence and make reporting to GRCC easier for victims.
